Save our Bus Services Executive Group Meeting

Today we had a 'Core' Group meeting with the main group members that had initiated our group and went through the last group meetings outcomes and progress. Joan chaired the Group meeting earlier this month (in my absence) and explained it was an overwhelming well turned up meeting with support. Although issues were raised from within the community, there was a sense that things are happening with local issues and a question as where do we go from here.

understanding that we are supporting 'Blake's Way', it was mentioned that the bureaucrats from within the N.S.W. Ministry of Transport may not lend an ear to Blake's idea although they will cheer and congratulate Blake on his generosity of preparing and presenting a bus network system for Mount Druitt and Surrounding Suburbs. My gut feeling is they will take his ideas on board and in doing so should financially reward him for his efforts he has made so far. It is hardly imposable to think that from the day we started with doom and gloom deleted bus services, we now have been uplifted with total happiness, when you see all commuters happy and enjoying an easier life with the public bus services infrastructure. To hear the whispers of happy people that were saddened by the reduction of essential bus services.

Looking forward, we are still proceeding with the pending Gasmata Service along the new route (as previously mentioned), the return of Bus service West of Shalvey, complete return of services to Chestnut Crescent, Bidwill and (inclusive of more bus stops), erasing the issue of bus services turning 10 to 15 minutes early along Wilmott, increased weekend services and providing better bus services along Frank Street, South Mount Druitt.

Blake's way would fix all these problems - so we need to promote his bus network system and that is what we are going to do - we are waiting make it official but we will be looking to show 'Blake's Way' on 5th June 2010 pending our equipment can be used at Hoyts. Once we get a result from Hoyts, then we will promote it everywhere possible! At present Blake is getting support from Blacktown City Councillor Jacqueline Donaldson, Both the Mount Druitt Standard newspapers and the St Marys Star newspapers, and now the Western Sydney Public Transport Users Group and of course the general public! His way will be a big problem solver and I'm sure if given the chance, he would be able to develop bus network systems for the greater area of Sydney, N.S.W. and maybe even Australia.
