Well Blake Is Providing Newer And Better Services!

Today nearly one year since our group started and also since the new time tables were introduced to reduce bus services around Mount Druitt, Blake is running hot devising more and wonderful bus services for the area.

Blake will be invited to attend the Blacktown Transport Forum on 28th of this month and discuss his bus network system 'Blake's Way!'. At the same time these are the feature bus routes he is looking to include - this kid is incredible:
  • A route for every number from 716-800 (including 660,670 & 672)
  • a rout for every T-Way number between T70-T175
  • 3 Shopper Hopper Services
  • 5 Shared routes
  • 4 Industrial routes (1 numbered I1)
  • Routes split into Primary, secondary, tertiary and adjacent routes
  • Simplified numbering system: 71x Eastern Blacktown, 72x South Blacktown, 73x South- East Mount Druitt, 74 Long distance services, 75x North West Mount Druitt, 76x North East Mount Druitt, 77x South St. Marys/Mt Druitt, North/Eastern Penrith, 79x South-West Penrith.,
  • Region spreading as far as Emu Plains, Windsor, Rouse Hill, Castle Hill, Hornsby, Macquarie Park, Seven Hills, Parramatta, Liverpool and Wetherill Park
  • Service to new areas such as Ropes Crossing, new estate Jordan Springs, Bungaribee and The Ponds
  • Services to wanted areas including: Nepean Shores, Wetherill Park, Mount Druitt Hospital, Blacktown Swimming pool, Western end of Sedgeman Crescent.
  • Plus a lot more

Wow all I can say is that we don't not realise (from a wonderful community we have ), how such a great young talent we has been created from self community interest. I can tell to plan these bus route I would not have dreamed of - maybe our total group would be doing but it would be a great challenge. Blake is like an athlete just entering the arena on the last lap of a great marathon and there is just the line to beat. Blake is like a surfer that picked up the best wave on the last ride of a competition and hangs on and wins! Blake is someone that came of the woods and found your group that needed to get to their final destination!

Blake to me,if I could decide would be Blacktown Youth of the year, Sydney Youth of the year, NSW Youth of the Year and also Australian Youth of the year!

What more can we!

Blake's Way Ahead!

Yesterday we had a public showing of 'Blake's Way' and although we had approximately 30 members of the public attend, we had enough seating.

The overall feeling was that it was a great overhaul of our current bus transport infrastructure around Mount Druitt making it better. Although we had assistance from Hoyts Management, Western Sydney Public Transport Group, Mount Druitt - St Marys Standard, St Marys- Mount Druitt Star a lot of the general public didn't come and that can be caused by 2 main factors - we didn't publicise "Blake]s Way!' to the general public with flyer's handed out or delivered to the community. We were basing it on e-mail sent - word of mouth and Local papers.

I take full responsibility for that and have learnt if we have something similar again we will try to notify the local public though other means of notification.

In relation to 'Blake's Way', we will further promote his new bus services direct to the new Minister of Transport. We met afterwards as a group meeting and we have ideas as to how we can do this. We will advise further!

Blake's Way Is Causing Interest With Bus Divers

Here we are today politicians that have removed our bus services from smaller street or even complete bus services are now seeing how our group has group has grown from strength to strength. It has amazed me how one person started something that was just to be for the betterment of Mount Druitt and there's one person spoke to another person whom spoke to other people and ....... here we are today.

A community interest group lobbing for return of services - a society that had gone back into the dark ages when Mount Druitt was a developing town about 30-40 years ago and had limited services.

Now we are showing 'Blake's Way' - at Hoyts Mount Druitt starting 8.30am for 9.am on the 5th June 2010, I have heard from a Westbus drivers that that have a notice on their board and they are interested about it - Well I hope that this is the same with Busways bus drivers as it appears the management of Westbus are now realising that our group has a lot of positives to assist bus operaters to benefit the community. Blake will hopeful knock out and make them realise that Blake is increasing services in times that are required and new and improved services that will join the community together and rid the hardship that is still happening around the suburbs!

Mount DRuitt Standard - Blake's Bus System

A 14 year old has transport fix

Lauren Murada - story posted in newspaper 5/5/2010

A 14 year-old boy says he can the area's public transport woes.

As bureaucrats and politicians argue about traffic chaos, Shalvey student Blake Bardowski has presented a blueprint to clean up bus services. His vision has the approval opf one local lobby group.

Blake said he became aware of problems facing residents after new bus routes were introduced last October.

"A lot of people are disadvantaged and need to get to places they can't with the current system
but could with the old system," he said.

So he combined the best of the old and new systems to create a new network,

"They should fix the problem butb they don't really listen to the people, " he said of the authorities. "They should listen to this because it advantages a lot of people and connects them.

I've listened to what the people want and written it down, an=dd my own bits and touched it up so it will work out."

Blake spent 4 weeks redesigning the routes and is currently finishing the time table.

He has a detailed 49-page presentation with maps outlining the routes for each service.

Blake said the redesign was harder than he expected.

"i really care because a lot of people couldn't get to where they want to go," he said.

"i couldn't get to my grandma's place and some of my friends places and it took me a bit longer to get to school (Penrith High)," Blake showed the new network to the Save Our Bus Services Mt Druitt And Surrounding Suburbs Group, who gave it their approval.

Chairman John Svoboda said they have to tweak a few technical aspects but was very impressed with his work.

"It seems like he's covered every area, places people couldn't get to", he said.

Save Our Bus Services will meeting this Saturday at 10.30am at Holy Family Parish Emerton, to discuss Blake's proposal.

The group hopes arrange a public meting at Hoyts Mt Druitt soon to showhis work to Busways, Westbus , local Mp's and council members.

To attend this week's meeting, call Deb Robertson on 0409669876.

'Boy Sorts Out Bus Sevice' - St Marys Star

BY KYLIE STEVENS

04 May, 2010 09:45 AM

MEET the Shalvey student who could become the saviour of disadvantaged bus passengers.
Blake Bardowski, 14, has devised his own bus network and timetable.

It includes many Mt Druitt areas inconvenienced under timetables that were revamped last year.

The Save Our Bus Services lobby group has endorsed the proposal as Blake's Way, which he will unveil to the public in the coming months.

Blake says he knows how disgruntled commuters feel.

His trip to and from Penrith High School takes an hour longer now.

``But I was saddened when I heard about the commuters who can't get to places, do their shopping or see their grandchildren,'' he said.

Blake spent three months creating his network, which consists of almost 60 routes and goes as far as Penrith, Rouse Hill, Castle Hill and Liverpool.

There are 20 new routes, including a shuttle service between Mt Druitt station, Westfield, Mt Druitt Hospital, Zoe Place, North Parade and Sherbrooke Street for free or a small fare.

Blake revised the 730A/C route to give commuters quick and direct access between Mt Druitt, Whalan, Bidwill, Shalvey and Lethbridge Park.

The popular 755 run would include Plumpton.

Sunday services would be restored to Chestnut Crescent, Middleton Crescent and Manifold Road in Bidwill.

Buses would return to no-go zones in Siandra and Koomooloo crescents in Shalvey, but still avoid rock-throwing hot spots.

Timetables were revised to cater for early morning shift workers who now have to get taxis.

Blake is surprised at the overwhelming public support for the proposal so far.

He would be happy if half of his ideas were taken on board by bureaucrats.

``It would be a win-win for everyone, including bus companies with extra patrons,'' he said.

But Blake says he will be surprised because, he says, the government ignores community comments.

Blake's Way - Shows His New Bus Networking For The Mount Druitt And Surrounding Communities! It Is Great!!!!

At our meeting yesterday we discussed current issues and that we had a second victory with buses 674 for Gasmata Crescent, Whalan - problems with time tables indication disability bus - yet there are extra disability buses not marked on time tables for Busways.

And then we had the overwhelming 'Blake' that was showing what he was proposing for bus services all around Mount Druitt. Actually not just Mount Druitt, to Penrith, to Blacktown, to Liverpool and to Rouse Hill.

We as a group are overwhelmed with what this young genius has showed us. We will take on his plans foe Bus Network but not as our ideas - as a group supporting his ideas. One of our group members Anne asked Blake what has motivated him in doing this - he said partly seeing what our group has been doing around the community and he wanted to help the community. Forward planning is to tweak what we will call 'Blake's way' and then help him release his bus network at every occasion we can to the public.

We are encouraged that such a young person has been inspired to provide a network of bus services for the Mount Druitt community. Further details of viewing 'Blake's way' will be provided to you as we keep you informed!
