Holiday Children Are Bored Rock Throwing

On Wednesday and Thursday I have heard of 2 to three incidents where children around the age of 10 -14 are rocking rocking along Bulolo Drive in Whalan. It appears that they target buses and don't realise that that they are also targeting the potential loss of bus services if this continues.

I have spoken to Mount Druitt (who are probably understaffed) and they are going to look at patrolling the area more often -also heard of rock throwing on Belmore Road, Mount Druitt - It appears to be a favourite pastime and the children that do it in a certain area live somewhere else. If this pursues the I feel we are fighting a lost cause, loss of bus services, lost of Jobs for bus drivers , potential loss of jobs for some people in the area, potential increase in daily hardship, cost of living if more taxi's are caught if no bus services are around.

This has to be talked threefold: Increased police patrolling of cars around the area, marked and unmarked cars, also police education through all schools around regarding community safety and the alertness of the maximum criminal penalties for rock throwing so far is 5 years jail and place ' Rock throwing fine /criminal signs around the area that is affected by rock throwing around Mount Druitt.

I will refer to Jacqueline Donaldson - our Blacktown City Councillor to investigate these isssues.

A Young Worker Now Claims Security Risk, At Night

Harley, a 17 year old young worker always used to get the 755 bus on Bulolo Drive to Mount Druitt to work.

I met him down at Whalan shops and when I introduced my self to him he said 'For Christs sake get the buses back again!' It will make my life easier and safer. He indicated that he gets the Westbus 780 at night around 8.47pm as long as the trains connects leaving time to catch the bus. Should the train come late - then he has an one hour of waiting for next 780 and as a young person he finds there are people lurking around the Mount Druitt interchange baggering him for money that time at night. At one stage he nearly got mauled!

This becomes a complete security risk for him and other s that have to Waite for long periods of time for a connecting bus service. This can use up police resources and emergency ambulance resources should there be a serious incident to happen in this tim of the night. He would like the Busways 755 Bus service retunred and as well as others!The NSW Government should consider all risk factors!
