Gasmata 3 Minute Service Cut Off - 766/769

Community residents living around Gasmata Crescent, Whalan which is west of Mount Druitt has been stripped off of their well patronised service after over 40 years, although the State Government thumb of the rule is your house must be 400 metres from the nearest new bus stop - this is definitely not too - I have walked myself a few times and community members have been told by the NSW Minister of Transport, Mr David Campbell that the traffic lights and underpass on Luxford Road, make it safer for community members.

Well, double-laned roads are not safe to walk across, traffic lights may make it easier but most residents walk towards Gasmata Crescent and Luxford Road, a majority of residents do not use the underpass it stinks of urine, broken glass and it is totaly filfthy. We even hear that people shoot up drugs there and there sometimes maybe homeless people sleeping there! So crossing the road is rather dangerous, especially if you are elderly and or disabled NSW Transport Minister david would like you to use the safe underpass!

We have filmed 6 members of this community that have been dramatically affected by the deletion of services and also footage of the underpass that crosses Luxford Road in between side streets of Gasmata Crescent an Banaro Avenue ( east of Luxford Road) - we will place these film on our website soon - keep on watching!
