Taxis Profiteering From Deleted Services

There is that silent factor that you do not hear - the taxis drivers screaming about the bus deletions around Mount Druitt. Why is this? It is there has been an increase of community members that can't reach new bus service bus stops due to heavier traffic or even fear of health and safety crossings. They wouldn't have got heavier traffic streets when they used to get previous deleted bus stops.

In Gasmatta Area Whalan thas told by Carol, one of our group supports there is a 40 year old lady whom will not walk down to Luxford Road due to health reasons and would have done so with the previous Gasmata Crescent 766 and 769 Westbus bus service there was no problems . This lady is now catching taxis to shops and doctors. Yes this is a choice of life, forced on her by 'decision makers' that have decided to change transport infrastructure, not realising how it affects the important parts of all communities.

Another of our group supporters, Janet had to travel one end of Chestnut Crescent to the other end of Chestnut Crescent to visit her daughter by taxi on Christmas day as there was no bus services on this day cost was $20 - which was deducted from amount to purchase presents for her family!
