We attended the 'Western Sydney Transport Users Group' meeting today, representing Mount Druitt Area.
We were introduced as having a big win for our group - So I summarised how we started our group, mentioning Sonyia, how we stared with 9 group members and now we have reached about 25 to 30 members now. And how we won a bus service pretty much without direct assistance with our local politicians. they were never ringing us constantly.
We heard of local issues from Oatlands, Bankstown with current bus issues - of them lasting 2 years for service. Yet they both have had deleting or restructured bus services.
We heard of the Liverpool group, they have their bus review next month unsure of what is happening, South Penrith already had their review - they have formed a group to save local buildings as well. And then there was Blue Mountains.
During this meeting it was pointed out that when the public contacts the 'Infoline' - there is an event number given to each person that makes a complaint of compliment. Appartly the NSW government will act only if 200 minimum complaints are received. That's probably when it send alarm bells to the NSW Government. The even number must be kept by the individual.
The next meeeting will be on 8th May 2010 - we will still represent yourselves and provided fiurther details that come through
